STORIES FROM THE SANCTUARY!
 
A question I often ask my clients is "Are you living your life from the neck up?".   Can you relate to this? As we come into the beginning of summer, I am noticing how grateful I am for the warmth, how much I am enjoying sitting in my garden -- even though I'm weeding, I stop now and then to just be here with my green friends.  It feels good to let go and just BE in the plant world.  It's so alive with buzzing and a hum of growing that I can feel in my heart!  Worries slip away and I'm right here, fully present in my body in the moment.
 
People close to me could tell you that I am compulsive when I get into the garden.  I can get obsessed with cleaning the beds and making the beauty stand out more.  Well, another perspective that recently came to me is that of a sculptor.  Similar to coaching, the beauty and magnificence is already there - my job is help brush away anything that doesn't show it off! 
 
One way our beauty can become fuzzy or obscured is when we are only living from our minds.  As someone else said, "The mind is a beautiful thing", but it's only a part of who we are and how we express that in the world.  Put together paying attention to your body with the sunny days of summer and you may find yourself wanting to run, leap and play outdoors. 
 
Listen to this calling.  Allow yourself more time to play!  Whether on your own or with friends, step away from your desk, your computer and follow the call.  It is in the natural world that your authentic self lives the most.  You don't have to be a rock climber or a triathelete - just begin where you are.  I promise you that if you let your body lead you - get curious and be pulled by the beauty of nature, your connection to all things will deepen and you will feel more gratitude and joy.  Make the time this month and check it out for yourself!  And I'd love to hear from you about what you experience.
